Classroom Teachers. Safari Rangers.
The Learning Safari is a sought-after destination for high-quality preschool teachers. Oftentimes, teachers come to us for the same reasons our families do. We provide a nurturing environment rooted in the philosophical belief of play being essential to a child’s learning.
Our teachers are highly qualified early childhood educators licensed with Alberta Child Care Licensing. We only hire those who share our philosophy and high standard for early childhood education.
Together, we encourage active minds and learning in a safe, healthy and secure environment.
Mrs. Robertson
Hello, My name is Mrs. Robertson, and I am so excited to be joining The Learning Safari this year! I can't wait to meet you and your child and begin an amazing year of learning, discovery, and fun together.
The Learning Safari already holds a very special place in my heart because my triplets attended preschool here. Watching them grow, learn, and develop a love of school gave me a firsthand appreciation for what makes this preschool such a wonderful place. This fall, my daughters are excited to begin Grade One, and my son will be heading into Grade Four.
I earned my Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta, specializing in Elementary Education. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to teach Kindergarten and Grade Two. These experiences have reinforced my belief that young children learn best through meaningful play, hands-on exploration, movement, creativity, and lots of laughter.
In our classroom, we'll spend our days building friendships, developing confidence, and exploring new ideas together. Through stories, music, art, crafts, sensory activities, games, early literacy and numeracy, pencil work, and active play, we'll discover the alphabet, numbers, shapes, colours, and so much more. My goal is to create a classroom where every child feels safe, valued, encouraged, and excited to come to school each day.
I feel incredibly grateful to be part of The Learning Safari family, and I look forward to getting to know each of you. Thank you for trusting us with your child's preschool journey. It's going to be a wonderful year filled with learning, laughter, and memorable adventures.
Jen Reynolds
Welcome. I am Mrs. Reynolds and I am the Director and Owner at The Learning Safari Preschool. I adore teaching young children and I am so proud of the thousands of kids The Learning Safari Preschool has helped educate over the past 20 years. I have a tremendous enthusiasm and passion for early childhood learning, which can be seen in the design and delivery of our play-based curriculum. I believe that activities should be open-ended and lead by the child to encourage the children to explore, manipulate and learn to their fullest potential. I love seeing the children smiles, hear their laughter and feel the nurturing environment of the classroom daily. They build so much confidence.
I believe that all children need to be given the opportunity to play and explore when they are young to enhance their learning and development. I feel very passionate that children will learn their best through play and exploration, particularly when teachers follow their interests. I have seen first-hand the benefits that a play-based curriculum provides, which helps children build resilience, self-esteem, and critical thinking skills. I believe some of the most important skills to have when working with children are patience, flexibility and most of all love.
When I’m not in the classroom, I am a wife and a mom of two wonderful teens and I love being apart of the community here in Sherwood Park.
