Classroom Teachers. Safari Rangers.

The Learning Safari is a sought-after destination for high-quality preschool teachers. Oftentimes, teachers come to us for the same reasons our families do. We provide a nurturing environment rooted in the philosophical belief of play being essential to a child’s learning.

Our teachers are highly qualified early childhood educators licensed with Alberta Child Care Licensing. We only hire those who share our philosophy and high standard for early childhood education.

Together, we encourage active minds and learning in a safe, healthy and secure environment.

Hello, I am Mrs. Schultz and I am thrilled to meet you all!

I have a Bachelor of Education degree with an Elementary Generalist Major/Ed. Psych minor from the University of Alberta. I have over a decade of experience working with children both in a traditional classroom setting and in daycare and after school programs. I am a fun and enthusiastic teacher and I love learning and teaching new things!

Jen Reynolds

Welcome. I am Mrs. Reynolds and I am the Director and Owner at The Learning Safari Preschool. I adore teaching young children and I am so proud of the thousands of kids The Learning Safari Preschool has helped educate over the past 20 years. I have a tremendous enthusiasm and passion for early childhood learning, which can be seen in the design and delivery of our play-based curriculum. I believe that activities should be open-ended and lead by the child to encourage the children to explore, manipulate and learn to their fullest potential. I love seeing the children smiles, hear their laughter and feel the nurturing environment of the classroom daily. They build so much confidence.

I believe that all children need to be given the opportunity to play and explore when they are young to enhance their learning and development. I feel very passionate that children will learn their best through play and exploration, particularly when teachers follow their interests. I have seen first-hand the benefits that a play-based curriculum provides, which helps children build resilience, self-esteem, and critical thinking skills. I believe some of the most important skills to have when working with children are patience, flexibility and most of all love.

When I’m not in the classroom, I am a wife and a mom of two wonderful teens and I love being apart of the community here in Sherwood Park.
