COVID-19 Information

The COVID-19 pandemic has created a disruption in our lives, unlike anything we’ve ever seen. Our hearts go out to all who have been infected and those whose lives have been disrupted by this pandemic.

The Learning Safari places the utmost priority on the health and safety of the children in our care, our teachers and the families we serve. In response to COVID-19, we have revised our standard operating procedures to help mitigate the spread of potential infection. Our new standard operating procedures expands upon existing disinfection and health protocols that offer parents and teachers peace of mind and demonstrates our commitment to creating a healthy and safe environment for learning and playing.

Please be assured that we are continuing to monitor this health issue closely and have preventative measures in place to keep The Learning Safari children and teachers safe. Some of these preventative measures include:

  • Educating teachers on prevention of infectious disease spread

  • Use of facemasks by parent volunteers is mandatory, at this time

  • Heightened cleaning procedures: Rigorously implementing our cleaning process for toys and surfaces and regular laundering of soft items such as dress up items, puppets, etc.

  • Focus on individual learning: Increased number of learning centers in order to avoid large groups

  • Symptom monitoring and strict enforcement of sickness policy: separating sick students from others until they can go home.

  • Continuing to implement our handwashing/hand sanitizing procedures frequently throughout the day.

  • Reminding teachers and students to avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth.

  • Surfaces must be cleaned and disinfected between group use

  • A cleaning log will be posted and used to track cleaning

We continue to be driven to positively shape the lives of the children, families and our community. The principles of our preschool program have not changed! Our program is still delivering a learn through play philosophy and has been held to our usual high standards. Yes, there have been some differences in our delivery but the theme-based curriculum with components like literature, learning centers, music, crafts, art projects and science experiments have remain unchanged.
